The Dutch environmental quality label for non-food products
Milieukeur is an independent label for non-food products and services. Its integrated set of criteria covers various environmental themes and takes into account the entire life cycle of a product or service.
The quality label has been developed and is managed by SMK.
Reliable and transparant
Milieukeur criteria are developed and maintained in consultation with companies and civil society organizations. Applied research, advisory committees, and public hearings guarantee high quality and social support. The Board of Experts approves the final criteria. This Board consists of representatives of companies, retail, government, scientists, and civil society.
Independent certification bodies regularly check if products and services meet Milieukeur requirements.

Vertrouwde keurmerken, nieuwe communicatieregels

De Europese richtlijn Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition (EmpCo) verandert het speelveld voor duurzaamheids- en milieukeurmerken. Positief is dat de keurmerken van SMK die binnen de richtlijn vallen, voldoen aan de eisen die EmpCo aan keurmerken stelt. On the way to PlanetProof, Milieukeur en EU Ecolabel behouden daarmee hun positie als betrouwbare en onafhankelijke keurmerken.

Lone Vaerndal is de nieuwe directeur van SMK

SMK verwelkomt Lone Vaerndal als de nieuwe directeur. Zij treedt per 1 juni in dienst van SMK. Vanaf september neemt zij het stokje volledig over van de huidige directeur, Gijs Dröge, die dan na een jarenlange, succesvolle loopbaan met pensioen gaat.
