The Dutch environmental quality label for sustainable non-food products
Milieukeur has an integrated approach to making non-food products and services more sustainable. As part of this approach, Milieukeur aims for a healthy balance between the various sustainability themes, so that its criteria relate to the whole life cycle of the product or service.
The quality label has been developed and is managed by SMK.
Reliable and transparant
Milieukeur criteria are developed and maintained in consultation with companies and civil society organizations. Applied research, advisory committees, and public hearings guarantee high quality and social support. The Board of Experts approves the final criteria. This Board consists of representatives of companies, retail, government, scientists, and civil society.
Independent certification bodies regularly check if products and services meet Milieukeur requirements.
